Leeds
Leeds is the financial, commercial & cultural heart of West Yorkshire. Just a 20 minute drive or 15 minute train journey from Willow Cottage. Making this an excellent base to visit its extensive shops, eclectic mix of bars & restaurants, as well as trips to its many theatres, music venues & attractions.
Shopping
Leeds has a broad variety of shopping & retail facilities. The most recent addition is Leeds Trinity which includes shops such as Mango, Top Shop, Superdry, Apple & Victoria's Secrets. It also houses restaurants & bars such as The Alchemist, The Botanist & Angelica with its panoramic city views.
Further unique arcades & fine architectural retail buildings include The Victoria Quarter, which is home to over 70 of the worlds leading fashion & lifestyle brands, including Louis Vitton, Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood, Liz Earle & of course Harvey Nicholls.
The Corn Exchange, which features many independent retailers offering diverse shopping opportunities. There is also a large pedestrianised zone where you will find all the major high street stores, plus a little extra.
Attractions
Royal Armouries situated in Clarence Dock, Leeds is the UK's national museum for Arms & Armour & has a world renowned collection of over 75,000 objects. There are 5 galleries which include interactive exhibits & jousting competitions.
Leeds City Art Gallery houses a rich variety of art from Leeds, including an impressive collection of paintings, sculptures & new media. Well known artists from the region exhibit here including Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth & Jacob Kramer, as well as internationally known artists.
Nightlife/Food and Drink
Leeds has so many pubs, bars & restaurants (many of which are award-winning), it would be impossible to single out just a few! From fabulous deli's to an abundance of coffee shops, from fine dining to fabulous, informal bistro's. Individual & different venues to nearly every nationality you can think of, plus Cocktail bars & ancient & traditional pubs. Theatre and Performing Arts
Leeds has a variety of venues offering many creative & stunning performances from West Yorkshire Playhouse to Leeds Grand Theatre & Opera House, as well as the smaller Carriageworks Theatre. It is also home to the Northern Ballet, Phoenix Dance Theatre & Opera North.
First Direct Leeds Arena
The recently completed First Direct Arena in Leeds Centre centre has a capacity of 13,500 & has already hosted acts such as Elton John, Bruce Springsteen & Kaiser Chiefs. Its performances include comedians, musicians & performing arts. It is fast becoming the premier venue in the North.

We must say no to pets and no children below the age of 6. Car parking is available about 50 yards from the house, and on street parking is available outside of the house at the back. Willow cottage is a grade II listed building, therefore we regret we are not wheelchair accessible.
